We are looking for a Control Room Operator to support round-the-clock oversight of operational assets in Houston, Texas. This is a Contract position focused on coordinating control room activities, responding to operational issues, and helping maintain safe, compliant system performance. The role works closely with field teams and operations leadership to keep workflows moving efficiently during a rotating shift schedule. Shift Work: 3PM-3AM, 3AM-3PM.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee facility, injection well, and produced water gathering operations from the control room throughout each assigned shift using SCADA and related monitoring systems.

• Review incoming alarms, determine priority, take appropriate corrective action when possible, and escalate issues that require additional authority or technical support.

• Track injection rates, pressure levels, and operating volumes to help ensure activity remains within approved operating thresholds, and alert leadership and compliance personnel when limits are approached or exceeded.

• Watch leak detection data and initiate established response actions whenever signs of potential loss of containment are confirmed or cannot be ruled out.

• Use remote camera systems to verify operating conditions, support safety and security awareness, and confirm alarm conditions before dispatching field personnel whenever feasible.

• Administer control-room-managed permits and work authorizations, including issuing, monitoring, and closing approvals tied to operational activities.

• Keep shift documentation current and accurate by recording alarms, events, operational changes, and handoff notes for the next operator.

• Coordinate with field crews and supervisors on planned shutdowns, startups, valve configurations, and equipment isolation activities to support safe execution of work.

• Prepare and share routine operational reports covering production volumes, downtime, exceptions, and related performance information.

• Contribute to investigations, drills, and process improvement efforts by identifying abnormal patterns, recurring alarm issues, instrumentation concerns, and opportunities to strengthen procedures.

• Experience working in a control room, logistics coordination, or operations environment involving continuous monitoring and response activities.
• Working knowledge of SCADA platforms, alarm management tools, and industrial instrumentation used to oversee operating assets.
• Ability to assess developing situations quickly, prioritize competing issues, and make sound decisions within defined operating procedures.
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to maintain clear, accurate shift logs, reports, and operational records.
• Familiarity with permit-controlled work, safety practices, and escalation protocols in an industrial or energy-related setting.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with field teams, supervisors, and compliance stakeholders during routine and urgent conditions.
• Comfort working a 5-5-4 rotating shift schedule in a Contract position supporting continuous operations.
