Under supervision of the Supervising Special Investigator I (SSI I), the Analyst I is responsible for performing a variety of less complex analytical assignments for the Enforcement Division's Intake and Mediation Center. The Analyst I reviews incoming consumer complaints, gathers evidence from the parties, analyzes contractor law, conducts mediation, and makes recommendations. The Analyst I also tracks all complaints and determines priority, ensuring to meet established timelines. The Analyst I prepares and analyzes tracking spreadsheets and prepares summary reports based on findings to ensure a timely and fair complaint handling process.

Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

Conflict of Interest: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.

Fingerprint

Fingerprinting: Chapter 2, section 154.3 California Business Professions Code (a) pursuant to subdivision (u) of Section 11105 of the Penal Code, the department shall submit to the Department of Justice fingerprint images and related information required by the Department of Justice for an employee, prospective employee, contractor, subcontractor, or volunteer. The Department of Justice shall provide a state- or federal-level response pursuant to subdivision (p) of Section 11105 of the Penal Code.
